DAY 2 : LE CROISIC, A TOWN OF CHARACTER & THE CÔTE D’AMOUR
Discover Le Croisic, a former corsair town awarded the “Petite Cité de Caractère” label in 2003. Its historic houses, former fish auction hall, and fishing harbour bear witness to the town’s prosperous maritime past. Continue with a tour of La Baule, renowned for its elegant villas and magnificent beach, passing through the seaside resorts of Pornichet and Le Pouliguen.
DAY 3 : THE GULF OF MORBIHAN
Visit an oyster farm and enjoy an oyster tasting accompanied by a glass of white wine. Then embark on a cruise through the Gulf of Morbihan, one of the “Most Beautiful Bays in the World”, a remarkable inland sea dotted with 42 islands and islets.
DAY 4 : GUÉRANDE & THE GRANDE BRIÈRE REGIONAL NATURAL PARK
Explore the medieval town of Guérande, a designated Town of Art and History, famous for its impressive ramparts, the Collegiate Church of Saint-Aubin, Saint Michael’s Gate, and its many artisan shops. In the afternoon, discover the Grande Brière Regional Natural Park aboard a traditional flat-bottomed boat (chaland), where you will learn about the region’s customs, wildlife, and rich natural heritage.
DAY 5 : THE GUÉRANDE SALT MARSHES
Enjoy a relaxing morning with time to visit the local market or make use of the resort’s facilities, including the swimming pool. Later, visit a working salt marsh and discover the traditional villages of the local salt harvesters (paludiers).
DAY 6 : GIANTS OF THE AIR & GIANTS OF THE SEA
Visit the Airbus facilities and discover the production of Airbus aircraft, from the smallest models to the famous A380. Much of the world’s largest passenger aircraft is assembled and equipped in Saint-Nazaire, alongside many other Airbus aircraft currently under construction. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyards and explore this vast 108-hectare industrial site. Learn about the impressive logistics, advanced technologies, and expertise involved in building some of the world’s largest cruise ships.
After discovering the charming town of Le Croisic, a protected Small Town of Character nestled at the entrance to the Traict, this route follows the coastal customs trail to the tip of the peninsula before continuing along the spectacular Wild Coast. Here, nature takes centre stage. Constantly shaped by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, the granite cliffs provide an ideal habitat for seabirds, which thrive in this remarkable natural environment.
The Granite in Batz sur Mer:
As you follow this route, you will discover the unique location of Batz-sur-Mer, nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the salt marshes. Along the way, explore its rich heritage, including the Saint Guénolé Tower and the remains of the Notre-Dame-du-Mûrier Chapel, remarkable examples of Flamboyant Gothic architecture.
The Pen-Bé Estuary
The Pen-Bé Estuary in Assérac offers a truly captivating route, showcasing a remarkable variety of landscapes that reflect the very essence of the peninsula. Along the way, discover charming villages and hedgerow countryside, dunes and heathlands, coastal scenery, and salt marshes. The many viewpoints and the diversity of natural habitats make this an ideal area for observing a rich variety of wildlife and plant species. Around every corner, a new landscape awaits – you won’t know where to look first!
Les Coteaux Guérande La Turballe:
Starting from Guérande or La Turballe, this route takes you on a journey to discover the region’s “white gold” – the salt that brought prosperity to the peninsula and continues to shape its reputation today. Following the hillside path, you will enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the salt marshes. Take in the panoramic scenery stretching towards the tip of Le Croisic and its estuary, which supplies seawater to the salt pans and their intricate network of basins. Be sure not to miss a visit to the medieval town of Guérande, renowned for its historic ramparts and rich heritage.
La Turballe:
Located on the northern coast of the Guérande Peninsula, La Turballe is home to the largest fishing port in Loire-Atlantique. Colourful and lively, the harbour comes to life early each morning as fishing boats return with their catch. This charming seaside resort also offers wonderful opportunities for coastal walks along its 11 kilometres of beaches. From secluded coves to the tip of Pen Bron, a stunning dune landscape, there is plenty to explore and enjoy in this exceptional natural setting.

Between Thatched Cottages and Marshes St Lyphard Guerande Herbignac:
From every perspective, this route offers a true immersion into the unique atmosphere of the Brière region. After visiting the traditional village of Kerhinet, famous for its characteristic thatched cottages, continue on to discover the Faillies Brières marshes.
The abundance of water has created a rich and flourishing natural environment, home to a remarkable variety of wildlife and plant species, including some that are particularly rare. Along the way, you will also encounter charming traditional villages and vernacular heritage, which can be explored on foot, by bicycle, by horse-drawn carriage, or aboard a traditional flat-bottomed boat (chaland).
The Bridge Circuit La Roche Bernard:
As you follow this route, you will quickly discover that the Vilaine River is anything but “villainous.” During a stop in La Roche-Bernard, the French writer Stendhal even described it as “one of the most beautiful scenes in nature” he had ever encountered. Starting from the old harbour, the trail leads you along the riverbanks before winding through the rolling woodlands of Férel.
Through the trees, enjoy stunning views of the river unfolding below. The route then takes you across the peaceful Férel countryside before returning to this charming Small Town of Character. Depending on your preference, you can choose to complete the full circuit or opt for one of its shorter variations of 6.5 km or 10 km.

The museum’s intimate and eclectic exhibition route immerses you in the heritage, culture, and traditions of the salt marshes. Discover the landscapes, techniques, and customs that have shaped this unique region, and experience the fascinating history of the land and the people whose lives have long been connected to salt.
Terre de Sel:
Located in the heart of the Guérande salt marshes, Terre de Sel offers a unique opportunity to discover this remarkable natural and cultural heritage.
Enjoy guided walking tours around the salt pans, led by experienced salt harvesters (paludiers) and nature guides. Tours range from 45 minutes to 2 hours and are available in cultural or family-friendly formats. Topics include the operation of the salt marshes, the salt-making process, tasting experiences, and the local wildlife and flora. Visitors can also explore an exhibition area dedicated to life in the salt marshes throughout the seasons, as well as a panoramic terrace equipped with an orientation table and viewing telescope. A dedicated activity trail is available for children aged 6 to 12.
The on-site shop offers direct sales of “Le Guérandais” Fleur de Sel and coarse sea salt, along with a selection of fine foods and regional products showcasing the flavours of the local terroir.
Museum le Grand Blockhaus in Batz sur Mer
Come and explore with your family an authentic Atlantic Wall Command Post, spread across five levels and more than 300 m² of indoor exhibition space. Discover the remarkable story of the Saint-Nazaire Pocket, the last region of France to be liberated on 11 May 1945. A delightful walk awaits you in the fortified town of Guérande. Wander through its charming pedestrian streets, lively shopping areas, and beautifully preserved medieval half-timbered houses. Once you leave the bustling main streets behind, you’ll find yourself exploring narrow winding lanes whose destinations remain a mystery – perhaps the best way to discover a historic town is simply to get lost.
Keep an eye out for gates, bastions, stone houses, and charming independent shops as you explore. To help you discover the medieval town at your own pace, information panels located throughout the walled town provide fascinating insights into Guérande’s rich history. A visit to Guérande is also a wonderful opportunity to sample the region’s local specialties.
